Anime VS. Manga: Peach Girl

Peach Girl

manga (above) ~~
Peach Girl, in my perspective, is one of, if not, favourite romance manga/anime. The manga itself is one that is a definate heart stealer with all its fluttery, beautiful moments and its heartbreaking moments, not to mention the times when you simply want to laugh out loud (trying not to type "LOL" - very challenging). In the manga, the emotions are much more intense and the romantic scenes really get those butterflies flying. The art in the manga is much more refined than the anime, as would be expected, and the expression of love is definatly more noticeable than in the anime. The story itself is not strickly "shoujo"-ish, I suppose, but it is not, in the slightest, the more original plot. Simply picture two guys fighting over a girl and there, you have the basic gist of the story, however, the little twists that are involved make the story more enjoyable and unexpected.

Anime(below) ~~
The anime, in comparison, is a little more light hearted. It doesn't contain too many sexual references as the manga and the sad moments are not as cry-your-heart out. But, neither, is it that bad in the manga, I suppose. However, on the negative side, there are a few, really heart-melting scenes that feature in the manga that are either non-existant or altered in the anime. This really swayed me a little towards the origianl manga rather than the anime. Also, in the english dubbed version, the words are translated differently and so the impact is sometimes altered. Although, this may be true, the anime does, no doubt, make up for it's negatives. The colour and effects added in the anime really enhance the romantic moments and the hilarious moments are made better with the characters voices. All in all, the anime does have it's own unique and exciting qualities.

WHO WINS? : It was very difficult to choose whether the anime or the manga won... but I think I'll give it to the anime but only with a slight majority

Remember to comment to tell me if you agree or if this post helped you at all.

Thanks guys,

Itazura na Kiss ***

I suppose this is one of those cute, romantic anime's which everyone loves. And, you know what? I'm not going to argue with that.

The plot line to this anime is fairly stereotypical of shoujo, romances where the not so popular girl loves the totally popular guy but he turns her down, then something happens to corrupt everything and they end up together. In this case, it was an earthquake.
Anyway, I wouldn't say the anime has a strict plot line. Every episode is almost like a story in itself but that isn't a disadvantage. It provides the story with a lighthearted feel - which the anime is - and is always a good one to watch when down in the dumps.
But this anime is not called 'romantic' for nothing. The cute, romantic scenes really are those that are easily stuck in your mind and wander there, waiting for the day dreaming session to begin. It really is a very cute, and lovable anime.

The art itself is not very amazing, however, I wouldn't say it was terrible. It really needs to be appreciated for what it is and how it adds to the anime all in all.

Well, I hope this helps you guys in whatever way.

Good luck!

Bokura ga Ita ****

Okay, so this is one of those popular animes' that is always recomended for whatever reason, whether it's for love or hate or somewhere in between. So review time??

When I first started watching this anime, I immediatly concluded that it must be one of the stereotypical shoujo, romance animes where the girl falls for the popular guy and some where through the whole thing he dicides he loves her too and they get together.
However, as I continued through the episodes, I realized this was not the case. The plot line became more dark - which, I suppose isn't a very complimentary word - and realistic. In some points through the anime, for me, the plotline becomes a little too, if not for a better word, sick. Soon, though, the anime recovers itself and throws in an easy, unmistakable stereotype of shoujo romances which, in the heat of the plot then it is badly needed. The contrast between it's cute moments and dark moments become quite a good combination and leaves the viewer less freaked out and not bored out of there wits (not meant to be offensive).

The art itself is a little bit debatable - I would say it is quite cute and provides the viewer with a different perspective on anime art, however, the repetative appearance of a little, annoying trait in the art might frustrate the viewer a little bit. But, if you look past the art, then I'm sure the anime can be trully loved for it's real potential.

I hope you guys enjoy this anime as much as I did,
